Nursing bra with surplice neckline and leotard back
I wish size of it around the chest was a little looser...I knew it ran small but was suggested to get a large based on a 36 b or c cup...and it's great but the band is just a little tighter than I hoped. I use washable bamboo cotton nursing pads inside it for sleeping. Great for the priceI sized up because of some reviews and it ended up being too big, it's comfortable but I need a smaller size, probably should've stuck with true sizeI ordered this sleep bra after being desperate for comfort. I am 34 weeks pregnant with my second son and unable to find any bras that fit comfortably, mostly due to the "digging in" feeling around the back and under the breasts from my expanding tummy. I received this bra this morning (I ordered it just a few days ago - Size Large in White) and wore it to work today for a six-hour shift of making coffee. I felt more comfortable in this bra than I've felt in any other bra worn while pregnant. After opening the yellow packaging and taking it out of the clear plastic, I threw off my clothes and slipped it on immediately. The first thing I noticed was how scratchy my right armpit felt. A quick peek into the armpit revealed the tag. Knowing I wasn't going to return it (sounded like a hassle) I pulled out some scissors and cut the tag right off. I found immediate relief of the major scratchiness, although the elastic [both around the arm holes and under the breasts] has a ribbing of minor scratchiness. I decided to take the bra off, and try it on inside out. I felt relief of the itch on the side of my breasts near my armpit, but then felt itchiness on the inside of my arm from the seams. The itchiness is not extreme however, and can certainly be lived with.I normally wear a 36A or 36B bra, but when nursing, my breasts more than double in size. Like I mentioned before, my biggest struggle with finding comfortable bras while pregnant is I don't like feeling like the bra is digging into my skin under my breasts and around my back. This bra is a little tight in that area, but I like it so much, I am going to keep this one, and order another one in an XL and hopefully it will fit looser. The fabric is not thin like I've seen other bras. The back is also not racerback, which I can't stand. Overall, this bra is the most comfortable bra I now own. I will continue to wear this bra until I deliver next month, and intend to wear it throughout the following year while nursing. For 18 bucks, I'm happy.Literally the most comfortable thing ever! Love these so much. They arrive smelling like chemicals. They don’t fall apart, haven’t had a problem with stretching eitherPros:Fabric is cotton and breathable - not too thin - easy access to nurse even if you're too tired to see straight - very washable and packable - relatively comfortableCons - Very limited sizes - slightly scratchy edge hems (but I'm pretty sensitive so this probably wouldn't be noticeable for most and I actually only notice it sometimes) - not much support but what do you want it is what it says, a Sleep Bra - with nursing pads still looks decent enough to wear out for a walkAll in all, I bought large (in black because I like black and another reviewer said that the black runs smaller and there seemed to be lots of complaints about the band being too tight on people which is just what I wanted being a 32) first which was great for the first couple of weeks of being home and the couple of days we spent in recovery in the hospital. Coverage was not great on the sides (I am a 32 G) even ordering the larger size and the band was too big as I expected. I did read the sizing chart and realize that they don't really carry anything that would be a true fit for my size before ordering but decided on this bra vs. other sleep bras because reviewers say that the fabric was not to thin which I prefer.I decided to try the medium after getting by with large and my milk production sort of evening out and the band fits almost well but of course the cups felt too small upon the first wearing. I tried to stretch them out a bit by hand and surprisingly that actually did help. If I'm really full it's just too tight but over all both have worked for me and this is probably a great sleep bra for a bigger band smaller cup size lady. With that said, keep in mind that it is a sleep bra and not a real bra so don't be disappointed with a lack of true support. Also it will not keep them separated if you are a side sleeper like me which is a little annoying but hey what do you want for $18.I have these in every color. It’s the only nursing bra I use. Comfortable for all day wear, and sleeping.I bought one of these in Medium because I was a 34 A/B heading to C territory earlier in the pregnancy -- it didn't fit. After having the baby and making do with 36 DD bras I tried it in an XL.If I've pumped recently it will go on, and I am able to peel it back off again when I am full, but it is uncomfortable. I don't think they make them big enough for me.My experience with bras like this one (this one and other sports bras) is that they seems to be an expectation that your breasts originate at your chin. Mine don't. Mine are down there between my arms over my ribs--where are yours? So, this bra's shoulder strap length and band sit somewhat on the base of the boobs even in an XL. I'm thinking of mucking about extending them. Also, the arm holes are smaller than they need to be, so the very rawly-finished edges of the bra around the arm like to cut you up with their sharp surged seams. I'm thinking of just cutting them down.Gosh -- I rate this as liking it, but that is what I have to say? Perhaps I should rethink. Maybe this is just what extreme isolation and lack of choice will do to tired and desperate people.Anyway, the soft cups and cross-over part are nice. It would look fine -- like a nice camisole -- if someone caught a glimpse of it under your shirt. It is easy to sleep in, but as a new parent you could sleep in a diving bell with little trouble.Maybe I just really want to like it. At any rate, I wear the thing. My advice -- order ENORMOUSLY over your size.
