Read more The most comfortable compression hosiery you’ll ever wear! Everyone loves microfiber for a reason: these fibers produce a wonderful softness. That’s the secret to the remarkable comfort of Microfiber Opaque compression stockings by Ames Walker. They're also easy to put on and take off. Choose between different compression levels and styles including knee highs, thigh highs, and pantyhose. With an opaque look, these compression hose can mask varicose veins and blemishes while making your legs feel soft and comfortable. What are the benefits of wearing compression hosiery? Recommended by physicians for decades to treat venous problems. Safe, non-invasive, effective and inexpensive treatment. Scientifically designed to regulate blood flow velocity through the feet and legs. Maximum pressure applied at the ankle systematically decreases up the hosiery length, keeps proper venous flow in the legs. Prevents back-flow and stagnation of blood in the lower legs that can cause clotting and heaviness. Read more What compression level do you need? Mild Compression 8-15 mmHg Mild compression helps relieve achy, fatigued legs, minor varicose or spider veins and helps reduce minor swelling. Moderate Compression 15-20 mmHg Moderate compression is a great starting point for anyone wanting to wear compression hosiery and socks. It's most commonly used for people who travel and it's also beneficial for people who experience achy, fatigued legs, minor varicose or spider veins as well as minor swelling. This level of compression is also beneficial to use before or after vein procedures and can help reduce the risk of Deep Vein Thrombosis ( DVT). Firm Compression 20-30 mmHg Firm compression can help people who suffer from symptoms of lymphedema, moderate swelling , moderate varicose or spider veins, mild venous insufficiency and can also be used to aid in prevention of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT). Extra Firm Compression 30-40 mmHg Extra firm compression is used to aid in the treatment for more serious conditions such as Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI), Post Thrombotic Syndrome (PTS) and Deep Vein Thrombosis ( DVT). This level can also be used to help relieve moderate to severe lymphedema symptoms, active or post venous ulcers and can be used for pre and post vein procedures. The legs are very tight and difficult to get on. I had to go in stages, i couldn't fit my foot through the bunched up leg in one go. They are also made for someone MUCH taller than I am (5'2"). The feet are at least 3 sizes too big, which leaves a lot of extra fabric in the toe box. Additionally, the fabric tends to bunch around the knees and thighs based on the way the tights are shaped as opposed to my shape (since I am so much shorter than I assume the intended wearer is). Finally, the color and thickness of these tights doesn't look normal/ fashionable under a dress, but should be instead be layered under something that fully covers your legs.I really wanted an “inexpensive” pair of compression stockings to work so that I could afford more than one pair at a time. Sadly these just don’t do the job like I need them to. They are long enough for my hard-to-fit legs but the toe is weirdly wide and sticks out on both sides of my toes. I could never wear them with an open-toed shoe. The worst part is that they pinch badly at the back of my knees and I can’t wear them an entire day. The pain of the stockings is eventually worse than the pain from my varicose veins. The fabric is also much more coarse and unattractive than more expensive support hose that I’ve used. If you really need comfortable, all-day, attractive support, just shell out for the Sigvaris stockings. And don’t forget to buy the special gloves for putting them on!!I just received these in the mail and ordered according to my height and current weight. I am 25 weeks pregnant, 5’6” and about 145lbs and the large fit perfectly! They feel great! The only complaint I have and why I didn’t give them 5/5 is because they are slightly rough feeling and the band at the belly just feels weird. It could be where baby is but when I sit I hike the band up higher. Overall I definitely recommend!!!Too tight. Uncomfortable. An absolute pain to get on. I’m 22 weeks pregnant, 5’9”, 195 pounds, hips are about 45” and so is my bump. I ordered a size “queen”. The top does not go up high enough and squeezes my bump. When I had to pull these down to use the restroom they became like tourniquets around my thighs which was quite painful and resulted in some bruising. I didn’t feel like they did much to alleviate my swelling either. Also the toe area seems strangely roomy like there’s room for a few extra toes so that bunched up in my shoe. I wore these once during a 12 hour shift. Wish I hadn’t so I could return. The legging part of these stockings are great. I’m 5’ 8” and the legs and feet fit great. However, the belly part cuts right in the middle of my bump. I absolutely cannot wear these as that is too uncomfortable. They also came with a small hole in the belly part (which, I’m sure if I wore these more, would spread).I ordered these when I was pregnant. I have bad varicose veins that bulge and hurt. Once I put these on my legs would feel great. I'm a nurse and on my feet all day and these really helped me. I'm 5'10" and weighed 223lbs at my biggest in my pregnancy. I ordered the XL and they fit great. They are hard to put on but that's ok, they're supposed to be tight, that's what COMPRESSIONS stockings are for. One downside though is that the material made my feet stink. But that does not take away from the product itself and its ability to get the job done. Can’t even wear these as they run smaller than what they say. I am 5’5”, 130lbs and 5 1/2 months pregnant. Very disappointed in this purchase. Order at least 1 size up if you choose these tights.I was hesitant to spend the money on these but I’m glad I did! I have had terrible swelling this pregnancy and compression socks are not enough. A few hours in these hose and I can tell a difference in my entire lower half.Knowing compression is tight and that I’m still getting larger, I made sure to follow the sizing guide and found it accurate. Trying these on was quite an effort, but within 10 mins found relief in my legs. I was using just compression socks hat went to the knee and they weren’t doing much. With these going all the way up the legs, I find there’s no ackward bulging. My baby bump is quite popped out and it fits well with room to grow still.Although I do find it bunches a bit behind the knee.I’m only 30 weeks along atm, so not sure how long I will still be able to bend over and struggle to get these on for. Great idea, but if you are having difficulty bending or get short of breath easily, and if you have long nails, I wouldn’t recommend full panty hose.
